Our Story
Boat Construction Indonesia (BCI) is a premier vessel construction company specialising in custom-built boats, yachts, and commercial marine craft. Operating from shipyard facilities in Bali and South Sulawesi, we combine Indonesia's renowned maritime heritage — recognised by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage — with modern naval architecture and engineering.
Our mission is to make premium vessel construction accessible to international clients by leveraging Indonesia's unique advantages: centuries of boat building expertise, abundant premium hardwoods, a large pool of skilled craftsmen, and cost structures that deliver 40–60 percent savings compared to Western shipyards — without compromising on quality, safety, or international certification.
Indonesia's boat building tradition stretches back over five centuries to the Bugis-Makassar seafaring communities of South Sulawesi. In 2017, UNESCO recognised Phinisi boat building as a Masterpiece of Intangible Cultural Heritage — a testament to the extraordinary skill and knowledge preserved by Indonesian boat builders. BCI is proud to be custodians of this living tradition.

Located in the historic shipbuilding heartland of Tana Beru, South Sulawesi — the birthplace of the Phinisi tradition. Our master craftsmen here specialise in traditional wooden vessel construction, combining hand-hewn ironwood and teak with time-tested techniques passed down through generations.
02 — Bali
Our Bali shipyard provides modern construction capabilities including fiberglass moulding bays, steel fabrication workshops, and covered assembly halls. Strategically located for sea trials and convenient access for international clients visiting their projects.
